The Orient Express Hotel enjoys a privileged location in the historical Sirkeci district along the banks of the Bosphorous, and pays homage to the train that brought kings and statesmen to Istanbul. The original Orient Express train route ran from Gare de l'Est in Paris and ended in the Sirkeci train terminal, just 100 metres from the hotel. The design concept of the hotel recreates the original splendour of the train, and is visually stimulating as well as nostalgic. Antique clocks, dark brown wood panelling and cream and gold hues hearken back to the turn of the 20th century, and so does the comfortable furniture.
The 54 rooms are all authentically decorated to continue the theme but include modern conveniences such as satellite TV and wireless internet access. Cherry wood furniture, simple and elegant headboards and framed antique photos set a warm and inviting tone.
The hotel has a panoramic terrace restaurant, the indoor 'Ottoman Restaurant', indoor swimming pool, fitness room and 'Wagon' bar. The pool is a place where guests can enjoy themselves both for swimming and having a drink. The terrace of the hotel offers a wonderful panoramic vistas of the Bosphorus, Golden Horn, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace while serving delicious Mediterranean cuisine. In the Ottoman Restaurant guests can sample the quality of the finest traditional Turkish dishes and elegant atmosphere with true Turkish Hospitality.
The hotel is well communicated with tram, bus and metro and close to the ferry service.
