Dating back to 1467, Hotel del Sole al Pantheon is the oldest in Rome, and has the blessing of holding a prime location: looking across the ancient Piazza della Rotonda to one of Rome's masterpieces, the Pantheon, which was standing before the birth of Christ.
During the centuries many important travellers (poets, nobles, philosophers, writers etc.) were our guests.
Despite a total meticulous restoration, hotel "Sole al Pantheon" has remained faithful to its calling - that of gracious inn. Exclusive and intimate, far from the city's chaos and still so very near its richness and its heart: a hotel where the seduction of a suggestive, unique and inimitable ambience is found in every detail.
The hotel has 31 rooms, each individual in decor but similar in mood, with colour-coordinated bedspreads and draperies.
The hotel offers also a lovely interior garden-patio which opens onto an intimate breakfast room where the tables are invitingly set with pretty floral print tablecloths. It is a refined and intimate spot to have an appetiser before dinner or a break after a day of discovering bustling Rome.
